A National MOTTEP® - Roche Joint Initiative

This campaign is designed to promote the number of living kidney donors. There are more persons waiting for kidney transplants than any other organ. Minorities represent more than 50% of those in need of kidneys.

• According to the United Network for Organ Sharing, there was a 16.5% increase in the number of living donations between 1999 and 2000.
• 68% of parents were living donors to their children (under the age of 18).
• Due to the shortage of donors, the average wait for a kidney transplant is 3-5 years.
• You can donate to someone who is not related to you. You may know a family member, friend, co-worker or neighbor who may be waiting for a kidney transplant. You can help shorten the length of time persons wait for transplantation.

Be encouraged! You can live a normal healthy life with one kidney.
